India 2009 Right then... Sikkim... Where to start? This Indian state was an independent kingdom until 1975 when it was forced to join India. It is a small piece of land in the Himalayas squashed between India and China, that is Chinese and Tibetan in culture. It is so beautiful, so unique in every possible way. Extremely difficult to get to as well. Hours of flying from Delhi followed by hours and hours of driving in the mountains. Views of the Himalayas from the state capital Gangtok are breathtaking. A Nepalese lady with traditional jewelry. Loads more to come! |
